THE ROLE 

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, Epwin Group PLC has identified the need to develop future leaders in the areas of sales, commercial, finance and operations.  We are looking for a highly competent and motivated Operations Graduate to be part of a high-performance team joining our 2-year Graduate Programme. You will be a key part of our Building Components Division based at our site in Tamworth. 

In this role you will be exposed to and will participate fully in a broad range of activities to provide real business experience, quantifiable business benefits and the opportunity for a challenging and rewarding career within the Epwin Group, and more specifically within the Specialist Division. At the end of the 24-month programme, you will be fully equipped to take on their first permanent role within the Division with a host of opportunities across several functions including Production; Warehouse; Planning and Logistics: Quality Assurance: CI and Product and Materials Development. 

Your personal and professional development will be supported by the Discovery Aspiring Leaders programme providing you with a blended approach to learning through experiential workshops, online learning forums and an experienced coach. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 

Following an initial 4-week induction period, you will follow four, 16-week rotations establishing themselves in key departments, developing a strong understanding of its need within the business and complete a study/project to demonstrate their new knowledge.   

Closely supported by your assigned Mentor, you will be involved in hands on learning and complete rotations in the following operations areas:   

There will then follow a more in-depth 32-week work placement, individually tailored specifically to you interests and the business needs. As part of this placement, you will be asked to lead one specific improvement project that will enable to apply many of the new skills you have acquired during your time with Epwin. 

THE INDIVIDUAL 

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Graduate to join our team. We are particularly looking graduates from an Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials background, but practical, data-oriented Graduates with degrees in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Studies or Maths will also be of considerable interest. You will be a key part of our site Operations team, based at our advanced manufacturing sites located in either Brackley (Northamptonshire), Telford (Shropshire), Dudley or Hereford.

Purpose of the role

Our operations are at the heart of our business and are the key to ensuring we can produce and deliver on our customer requirements and achieve our ambitious business plan. Our operational facilities are best in class and whether a Primary or Portioning site, are full of a diverse and highly skilled group of colleagues who are all motivated to achieve the same goal whether this is in our Production, Logistics, Technical, Engineering, Planning, Finance, or our People teams.

As an Operations Graduate you will be joining our operation on a 24 – 36 months varied and challenging programme, developing your skills, and raising your strategic awareness, with the aim of becoming a key member of the site logistics team.

Your key responsibilities as an Operations Graduate will include:

• Developing an in-depth knowledge of our Operational processes, including Production processes, health and safety standards, KPI’s and operational procedures
• Having responsibility for an area within our factory and delivering on resource management, achieving daily KPI’s and targets to ensure full customer orders are met
• Getting involved in site projects to develop your project management skills, whilst working with key cross functional stakeholders
• Growing and developing your people skills by leading and influencing those around you in our factories
• Communicating with all levels, including your site peers and key stakeholders to always ensure transparent communication and influence key decisions
• Gaining an understanding of the site’s key KPI’s and driving continuous improvement in your day-to-day role

This role will be varied and at times challenging and is based heavily in our factory environments, as well as some time spent in the office. Our manufacturing facilities are fast-paced, automated and refrigerated environments with a highly diverse workforce.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Operations Graduate to join our team. To be successful you will:
• Have achieved a 2:2 degree (or higher) in Operational Management, Business Management, Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management, and CCC (or higher) at A-Level, with evidence of achievement
