The Essentra Future Leaders Programme is designed to attract, train, and retain talent through a structured 3-year programme. It has been developed to provide participants with the knowledge, tools, and support to be successful within Essentra, allowing them to have the opportunity to progress within the organisation. 

The Role

The successful candidate will be committed to a career in manufacturing and looking to develop into engineering and business management in the medium term. It is a condition of employment that you can take assignments across Europe where we have 14 sites in 8 countries.  You will play a significant role in our business of delivering unrivalled service and products to the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidates will gain a breadth of experience from the manufacturing floor to working directly with the site leader. Essentra’s core values are around developing our people to ensure that our customers get a first class service. 

Job Description

This is a rotational programme within various areas of Operations and will potentially include roles within some of the list below.  

Production Management 

• HSE responsibilities (e.g. system compliance, incident reporting, risk assessments etc.) 

• Performance reporting 

• Performance improvement projects 

• Production supervision 

Supply Chain 

• Materials management/inventory control 

• Production planning 

• Customer Collaboration 

• Capacity management / S&OP 

Quality Assurance & Improvement 

• Complaint/non-conformance management (investigation, problem solving, corrective action 

implementation, communication) 

• QMS auditing 

• Change control 

• Root cause analysis and problem solving 


• Capacity planning 

• Project management Programme Office 

• Project control 

The Individual

Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • • Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant area (i.e. Business, IT or Engineering) 
  • Drive, enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ attitude, with the ability to think for yourself and take responsibility for your actions from day one  
  • Self-motivated, with good time management and excellent organisational skills 
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels 
  • An ability to apply your intelligence in a practical way, with the ability to develop & implement new ideas  
  • Eligibility to work in various EU countries and flexible to travel 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Capable at organising and structuring work 
  • Consistent in achieving and driving for results 
  • Core Office 365 skills and other digital tools 
  • A strong and committed drive to pursue a career in Operations 
  • Demonstrate a rounded profile 
  • Have notable achievements in various areas to supplement your academic achievements (desirable) 
  • Some experience in managing a team or leading a team (could be part of college project) (desirable)
