Sitting in the Graduate Recruitment Division, you’ll first get an in-depth understanding of what world class recruitment looks and feels like. In your first 6 months, you’ll be involved in engaging with candidates, conducting interviews, running assessment centres, and attending client meetings.
Following your 6 months of gaining a good understanding of the graduate recruitment market, and our processes, you’ll become a Sales Professional, where you’ll be expected to become a fully-fledged sales professional, where you’ll look to create, develop, and grow new and existing business relationships to solve our client’s graduate recruitment challenges, by taking a consultative approach.
The recruitment process is typically done in 2 halves – Business Development is one part of the role and then servicing the client and filling the vacancy is the 2nd half. When you first join Discovery, we will expose you to the Client Servicing side for your first 6 months so you can learn our business, become an expert in Graduate Recruitment, be exposed to conducting telephone interviews, video interview screening, become a competent assessment centre facilitator and build and develop candidate relationships.
We will drip feed Sales Training into this first 6 months so you can then move into the business development side of the role whereby you will be generating new business leads, spot opportunities to win, create and attend client meetings, engage with clients during on-going projects, ensure that you’re the go-to person in the sales team for your client’s needs, cold calling businesses, become a LinkedIn expert, able to understand the clients’ challenges before presenting a solution.
Sales is one of the most exciting areas of business, but this position isn’t for the faint hearted. You’ll need to be naturally resilient, personable, inquisitive, and curious. You should be genuinely interested in business and how to solve problems for our clients.
You will use your rapport building skills to cultivate strong client relationships and spot opportunities. You must be target driven and motivated to win new business, whilst living through our very strong core values that place our clients at the heart of our business.
